| Q)..Steam at 100^C is passsed through a hole drilled in a 2kg of ice at 0^c.After some time, 1.5kg at ice is left and 562.5g of water at 0^ C is formed. Calculate the specific latent heat of vaporization of water ?????

| m of ice = 2 kg, left ice = 1.5 kg, melted ice = 500 g total water at 0 degree = 562.5 g----- a water fm ice = 500 g ---- b => water at 0 degree from steam = a - b = 62.5. heat lost by steam = heat gained by ice m steam * L steam + m steam *c WATER* DT WATER FRM STEAM= m ice * L of ice 62.5* L + 62.5 * 4.2* 100 = 500 *336 L OF STEAM = (168000 - 26250 )/ 62.5 = 2268 J/g |
