i just want know that in stacks is it necessary to use shifting of array fo pushing and poping.......well it can also be done by ==> Top++ and Top--......

yup...just use another variable to duplicate the 'top'..eg 'point' or 'topp' ...

and then for pushing just do

stack[point] = stack[point-1]

it has the same effect as the top++ just as u said...
