iron will displace cu from cuso4 because fe is higher in the activity series so the colour of the solution will change from blue to brown

hey i think da colour wil change but frm blue to green.. bcz FeSO4 is green bcz of the presence of Fe2+ ions which r green in colour..

1. i guess.... CuSO4 + Fe = FeSO4 + Cu thus, Cu gives a bluish green colour to the sol.

2. The Litmus turns blue Reason: NaHCO3 hydrolyses to give NaOH and H2CO3... H2CO3 is weak acid....doesnt ionize but, NaOH is strong....thus, it dissociates, giving OH- ions OH- ions is alkaline character, thus, the litmus turns blue....

hey ambili wait!!!!!i think anu is confused in 1st answer bcoz Cu ions have blue color not Cu metal n in such cases d color of d soln. depends on d color of ions in t soln. n here its Fe ions having a green color so d color of d soln. wud b green

iron tends to form fe3+ions n not fe2+ions n since fe3+ ions impart brown color so d color of the solution will become brown from blue

yeah rite.. da color of solution wont depend upon da colour of copper.. it will depend on Fe2+ which r green.. da answer is correct.. siya ne bhi toh apni consent de di naa.. lol..

nd yeah.. iron has variable valency.. in Fe(0H)3 it has a valency of 3 bt in FeSO4 its +2.. bcz it balances da -2 valency of sulphate ion..
