well ur teacher was right.its alwayz better to study it.not neccessary to study it stage by stage..but some definitons like synapsis, bivalent condition, tetrad and crossing over are imp. Very Happy

meiosis is a type of cell division that occurs in germ cells(reproductive organs) which produces 4 daughter cells, with haploid number of chromosomes.

in concise, only chaismata, crossing over, tetrad, is given

what is synapsis?

well..when the homologus chromosomes undergo a strong attraction and get paired along their entire length, the chromosomes are said to be in bivalent condition.
