| Linear / Sequential Search : It is one of the simplest technique in which the searching of an item begins at the start of an array . the process continues one after another where each element of the array is checked or verified and compared with the given data item till the end of the array location . This process is also called Sequential search. After searching of the data item a relevant message is displayed to confirm that the search is completed successfully or unsuccessfully
Binary Search : Another technique search an element in the given array by using minimum possible time . In this technique the array is divided into halves which means the desired elements may be present in the first half or in the second half . Searching takes place in either part of the array by further dividing it into halves . The system performs search operation by dividing the array elemnts . Hence it is known as binary search . however this search can be done only when the array elements are sorted into a sequence (Ascending / descending) It always compares the element to be searched with the middle element of the sorted array . If the middle member is smaller , then the search continues in the other half If the middle element of the either half is compared with search elements |

| type casting is the conversion from one data type to another data type. this is also known as explicit type conversion and is done by the user.=) |

| When simple searching is done with a set of variables it is told as linear search. When searching is done by taking the middle position , then it is known as binary search. |
