| Glutathione, with its CAS register number of 70-18-8, is also known as L-Glutathione reduced, Glycineγ-L-glutamyl-L-cysteinyl-glycine and so on. And its IUPAC name is (2S)-2-amino-5-[[(2R)-1-(carboxymethylamino)-1-oxo-3-sulfanylpropan-2-yl]amino]-5-oxopentanoic acid. For a kind of white crystalline powder, this chemical is soluble in water, dilute alcohol, liquid ammonia and dimethyl formamide while insoluble in ethanol, ether and acetone, and its solid is relatively stable in RT. This chemical is a kind of tripeptide which is with many roles in cells. It conjugates to drugs to make them more soluble for excretion, and it is a cofactor for some enzymes, or is involved in protein disulfide bond rearrangement and reduces peroxides. When you store it, you should keep it sealed. 1.
