VITEEE / VIT rank vs branch AND Feedback OF VIT

Based on 2008 data here are the predictions

1. Rank<5000 : The branch of your choice

2. Rank<7000 : On the borderline for top branches CS,ECE

3. Rank<10000 : Branches EEE, Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, etc for sure.

4. Rank<13000 : U will get the lower branches but in the second counselling

I got them from a person who visited counseling in 2008

it is a good institution....... exceptin the fees is high!!! being a private college!!!

G-7 is from Kerala ..... you might be used to coconut oil
i love south Indian food[but i haven't eaten South Indian food @South India] so i might not have prob with their food in case i have to go there....
G-7 can you plz. tell something about the climate of south .... does vellore gets winter rain too(i think chennai gets winter rain).. Any idea...

I dont have much idea about the kind of education in VIT or the faculty, but the placements are definitely not less than the NIT's if not more. I've heard that a mechanical student on an average bags a package of 8-9 lacs.......and as far as coconut oil is concerned....I think I'll get used to it as long as I get those yummy spicy dhosas....hahaaa VITEEE / VIT rank vs branch AND Feedback OF VIT Icon_biggrin

abt VEllore,..the climate is extreme...it touches 40 in summer..but most of d time it stays in and around 35.but its very dry..makes u wanna drink aquafina bottles every hour...and also..its sultry duing winter...there will be occasional rain...and the temp at night can drop upto 16.. brr...!! Its good for studying.. BTw just a volley as a bonus, the CMC medical college in vellore is one of the largest in Asia..!!!! *cheer..!!*

@diptojit :: You wont get gold roasted dosas with delightful chutneys in hostel re..!!! u can expect idlis, *upumav*, curd rice, sookha chapz, and pongal most of the dayz..!! suit yourslf..! start eatin these things to gt familiar....lol..!

now i have started to think about going to VIT seriously...

btw. ppl what are you getting @aieee your JEE score was good enough are u getting a 260-270 marks...if yes then u might get a good nit..

I am getting 190-200(not sure in a 8 mark ques.)
only and i want CS and nothing else..

some ppl say i might get that @bottom NITs
but VIT is definitely better that bottom NITs so in case i get CS there i will give preference to VIT

thanks.. but it's not final yet ....i will make a final decision after bitsat paper and VIT result my bitsat date is 11th so just 2 more weeks to go... i will start my preps. again from tomorrow for bitsat

i will surely post my final decision here.I think i will have to choose any one from kota and vit.

oh!! my aieee was a disater..... il get only some 190 at the max!!! my iit paper vs much better...
some ppl say i might still get into those bottom NIT's .....(as saif mentioned)
but im not keen on dat.......... so now im considering VIT.. coz im sure il get my branch dere........( but jus 2day mornin i got a call 4m one of my friend.. her friends who joined in VIT(4 biotech) have now left it!!! it seems ppl in VIT (both guys n girls ) are drug addicts!!! bt the education is really good!!
those ppl probably felt they'l b influenced by others company...... n so they have left!!
n wat i was told is...... if ur sure u wont b influenced by d ppl around u.. den u can proceed!!

so now ive kept it as a last option....... i want 2 get into bitsat.. n im planning 2 postpone my bitsat date so dat i have more time to prepare myself!!!

can we postpone our bistat date... neeha my situation is very very similar to yours and even i have heard about drugs at vit....

but if we won't get anything good we might be forced to join vit.There are just 3 options available to me VIT BITSAT Or Kota and one more year for prep.

I am in contact with a few ppl from vit.drug addiction can be avoided.Such things prevail in most private college but the can be avoided...but one thing is confirmed from all my sources that at least in terms of job placement VIT is at par with most NITs and it is better that most nit in terms of infrastructure....

VIT is my last last and very last option...I am sure that if i drop for a year then i will surely get into some nit but that would result in loss of one year...but that won't be a loss in long term....

btw if u know how to postpone bitsat date then plz. tell as my bitsat
date is 11th
