1) do we have to read about SAT chromosome? if yes, plz tell more about it.

2) the largest and the shortest phase of mitosis.

3) minute pores in the epidermis of the leaf...is it stoma or stomata? whats the difference?

4) dark reaction is not there in syllabus, but we have to read it in brief....so, there is a complex equation for this process in my tb...should we learn that.

1-each chromosome has a primary costriction which divides it in2 2 halves.sometimes besides primary constriction,a secondary constriction can also b observed in some chromosomes.such a sec. cons. if present gives rise 2 a small fragmant or knob like structure called satellite.such chromosomes r called satellite chromosomes.(we dont need 2 know more dan dis much abt dis topic).
2-largest phase-prophase n shotest phase-anaphase
3-i asked my teacher n she said dat stoma is singular form of stomata.
3-i dont think we need 2 learn dat!!

apurva i think chromosomes duplicate in interphase i.e in dis phase DNA(chromosome substance)gets doubled................if u follow concise biology refer to page number 14.......................

in prophase itzzz already doubled,........................so answer is INTERPHASE....................................

kanika....see in concise, after the mitosis, they have given about cell cycle in which they have given s-phase, g1 and g2, etc....there they have said in synthesis phase the dna is duplicated....

anyway, interphase is only correct...but my teacher told i am wrong..n it was prophase for her!!! grrrr
