1.What do the following stand for
i)UNDP
II)IUCN
III)UNEP

2.Wat is ISI mark?
3.Why is the Bishnoi tribe of Rajasthan famous?

2.The Indian Standards Institution (ISI) was, therefore, set up in 1947 as a registered society, under a Government of India resolution.It's the authority that checks the hygiene of all the eatables produced in India. The ISI mark ensures proper quality on eatables. It is now named Bureau of Indian Standards.

3.Jambeshwar Bhagavan, born in 1451 in one of the warrior sects of Rajasthan, was soon disillusioned by communal riots between Muslim invaders and the native Hindus. However, instead of wallowing in despair, he went ahead to form a religion of peace based on 29 (bish: twenty, noi: nine) principles that included compassion for all living beings, cleanliness, devotion, vegetarian diet and truthfulness. Thus, the Bishnois came into being.

Cremating the dead requires wood. But Jambaji said that killing a live tree to get rid of a dead body is ridiculous.So the Bishnois bury their dead without so much as a memorial. they let the earth take back what it gave.

they never hunt animals. their villages are full of animals.Hunting black buck for them is like killing their guru.if somebody hunts all villagers will assemble to stop it and punish the person. they say:"We'll kill our own children before we let these animals be killed."

even if an animal eats their crop they wont chase it away. they would go starving to feed the animals.they believe in the co-existence of life. they belive that saving animals and trees will make them got to heaven after death.

they never cuts a tree. but they need wood for various purposes like building etc. so they wait for a tree toget old and die and fall. then they take it for their purposes...
