| during the electrolysis of Alumina, what is the solvent used? Cryolite or Fluorspar? In my textbook, fluorspar is given as the answer, but my teacher is saying it is cryolite Can you plz tell me the functions/ role of the Fluorspar and Cryolite? plzzz |

| Afa I know bth are used
Addition of cryo and flou (Short for flourspar and cryolite) lowers fusion point of the mixture ie. from 2050degree C to 950 deg C Add. cryo enhances conductivity of the mixture Add. cryo & flou enhances mobility of the fused mixture Cryo in the molten state of subdivision dissolves alluminium oxide |
