resistance depends upon temp of conductor => varies with temp as in the case of a glowing bulb and a bulb wich is switched off.
H is directlt proportional to current sq
higher the current, higher the temp-- diffficult to kp ratio v/i constant

hey wait...internal resistance i directly prop to the surface area n inversely prop to the temp of the electrolytic cell.

ppl,
Concise says-The internal resistance of a cell is:
a) Inversely prop to the surface area of the electrodes
b)directly prop to the distance b/w the electrodes
c)directly prop to the concentration of the electrolyte, and
d)inversely prop to the temperature of the electrolyte.

Now,is this right or wrong????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

vaish, whtz given in the concise is correct.

internal resistance is inversely proportional to surface area of electrodes, as larger surface area means more ions available to flow, means more current => less resistance

TO VAISH,
Since the chemical reactions run faster at higher temperatures, and the ions move faster at higher temperatures, a higher temperature also increases the reaction speed and thus lowers the internal resistance of the battery.

ALSO higher the concentration of electrolyte , more recombination of ions takes place, hence larger the internal resistance.

RESISTANCE OF METALLIC CONDUCTORS IS DIRECTLY PROPRTIONAL TO TEMPERATURE
BUT IT REVERSE FOR ELECTROLYTES-- INTERNAL RESISTANCE IS INVERSELY PROPORTIONAL TO TEMP.

concise is not exactly correct..
int res is directly prop to the surface area...since more ions are produced..more collisions on the way to the opp electrode with the other ions..thus mor res..
