| text would appear raised at diff. height for diff. colours..
this would happen because light of diff. colours travel with different speed in same media(but in air and vaccum speed of light for all colours is same)Red light travels fastest and violet travels with least velocity in any media( other than air and vaccum ) thus different colours have diff. refractive index. Refractive index is =C/V so greater the velocity less is refractive index .Thats why violet has more refractive index than red colour(vibyor)
from formula Refactive index =real depth / apparant depth =>apparant depth= real depth/refactive index
so greater the refractive index less is the apparent depth therefore violet colour will be at least depth(will be raised maximum) and red colour would be raised least or will have greatest apparant depth
now thy to ans. this ques
What will happen if u will palce a glass slab in which VIBGYOR is written with corrosponding colours ('R' is written in RED)
you may try it practically
