| hey....apple picking wont comethis year.what came last year surely will not come...believe me...so iam not studying apple picking, pertab singh, refugee, martyr's corner.........also cloud, tithonus, ode on the poeets, psalm of life, king canute are the most imp poems. mostly any two from this only will come...also the textbooks r gonna change next year..so they will ask onlynew poems. so dont give importance to nightingale, silver lining, govinda disciple and duchess which came in 2007...so study accordingly...write only the points..and surely u will get 90+ |

| One can see ... trouble : The poet knows that once he sleeps he will see a dream that will be something related to his day's work and this dream will be the troubling element of his sleep . This sleep ........ sleep it is : He is confused whether his sleep is going to be mere sleep or an eternal sleep : Death ( That is why he says"Whatever sleep") Were he not gone............... Long sleep , : ( over here I have broken up the last line for better explanation) : It's already winter so the woodchuck has gone for it's sleep or hibernation and now the poet can't ask the woodchuck. Had the woodchuck been there he (the poet) would ask it if the sleep he (the poet) he is going to have is like the chuck's hibernation or is it a mere human sleep (the poet considers the chuck's hibernation as the death or the prolonged sleep ) another point is that the chuck doesn't do any work so when it sleeps it won't have any dream enactment of it's work during its sleep . The poet here feels that sleep without dream is equivalent to death for human beings Or just some human sleep : Or is it just a sleep that will rejuvenate the poet .
Hope I was able to expln this |

| hey kanika, here it is:
SUNRISE
its is a methaphor.the sunrise (rising sun) is compared to a majestic eagle.Just like the eagle spreads its wings, the sun sends out its blood red rays into the sky.just as the morning star is dead , the sun leaps on to the cloud's back and goes up into the sky.At this moment it is like a huge eagle which sits on a mountain crag(edge) for only one moment but soon alights high up into the sky as the mouuntain is being shaked by an earthquake.
SUNSET
when the sun sets into the deep sea, which is at that time lighted with the red light of the sun,it give the message of love and rest.At that time it is like a red blanket of evening fallen on the earth. Here the cloud is compared to a brooding dove. ie.when evening comes cloud would take rest in the sky which is its airy nest, just like a brooding dove which sits in its nest.
hope it helps u. good luck 4 the exams |
