hey all!! here are some essay questions from my school papers.....post your answers:
Macbeth:
Q.1. Who appears to be stronger in Act-1 macbeth or lady macbeth? Substantiate your answer with suitable evidences from the act.
Q.2. The role of supernatural seems to be the driving force in the progress of the play. Justify the statement.
Prose:
Q.1. The story of 'The ideal family' by Katherine mansfield exposes the lack of genuiness in family relationships. Give your views with reference to the story.
Q.2. Quoting examples from the Indian Camp prove that it is a moving story.
Q.3. "but i believe that it is all chance. Take my own case"-how does leo tolstoy prove the truth of the statement with the help of ican vasilievich's character in 'After the Dance'?
Poetry:
Q.1. Tennyson's Ulysses is an inspiring poem to the youthof today educating them on the need of an undying spirit. How far do you agree. Give reasons for your answer.
Q.2. A prayer before birth is a worried plea from the perspective of an unborn child. How does louis mac neiceexpress the fear of a child?
Q.3. The journey of the magi by t.s.eliot stands as a witness to the poet's use of symbolism. Elucidate.

Quite possible Ganu. They may ask you to analyze Macbeth's soliloquies. I mean his state of mind or transformation in character. MAY!! I'm not sure!

nope...ntn of that sort...i don't think so cos there was never such a question in our school papers..and also, i don't think such a question was asked in the recent board papers..

These are few questions i got from past papers.. Take a look

1. Choose 2 of the following characters and show their importance in the play: Banquo, Duncan, Lady Macduff, Porter.

2. Which scene in Macbeth do you find most impressive. Give reasons.

3. Show, close reference to particular scenes, what witches contribute to effect of Macbeth.

4. How does Banquo take the witches’ prophecy and what impression do you get of his character?

5. Malcolm calls Lady Macbeth “fiend-like queen”. Does this seem to you a good description?

6. Outline stages of Macbeth’s decline, showing what, in your opinion, were the cause of the decline.

7. Consider how Shakespeare builds the relationship of Macbeth and Lady Macbeth between the murder of Duncan and of the play.

Yeah.. If u c the 10 yr papers.. the essay ype questions on Shakespearean plays.. one is scene based and other is a general question... So these com under gen ques..!
